Saguenay: Fun Things To Do For Adventure Lovers

Saguenay has something to offer to people of all ages. I visited during springtime while snow was melting on the lake and the ground. As I explored the city, it was absolutely clear that this is the perfect destination for a family trip. If you are an adventure lover, here are just a few things that you can experience.

  • Helicopter ride over Saguenay Fjord

A majority of the city is surrounded by the National Park. Thus, it becomes difficult to access it via land apart from the scattered villages. Take a boat ride to get a view of the fjord. However, if you are up for some adrenaline rush, take a helicopter ride. Choose from 10, 20, 35 minutes tours. Bring the camera to click some great pictures.

  • Go Kayaking near Beluga Whales

Head of Saint Lawrence River to find Beluga whales. These make way to Saguenay fjord for nursing their young ones. However, be careful not be approach them, particularly places close to perseveration. As I went kayaking, I had a close encounter with these creatures.

  • Camp with wild animals

In case you are looking for more adventure, you should go camping. Visit Zoo Sauvage de St-Félicien. This isn’t like regular zoos you have visited in your life. There are over 75 different species of animals. What makes it different than the other is the 7 km long trail park. I have to say that the natural beauty of this place is quite amazing. Spend 26 hours in the Adventure land of Caribou to have an experience of a lifetime.

  • Dance with the wolves

Hardly do you get to encounter a wolf? This is a scary animal and many are frightened to face them. However, the wolf camp of Aventuraid imprinted on the humans. Since their birth, they have been around humans and thus, they take us as their friends. You can sleep and wake up to the wolves howl in this park.
